MENUS

Here is your monthly menu

Each link takes you to a recipe you know, so as you practice your repertoire, this gets to be second nature. You will get the hang of holding this kind of information in your head.

As you become more aware of the larger balancing act of food groups, you can apply the knowledge to the larger scheme of things: week one might be mostly veges, week 2, mostly meat, week 3, mostly fish etc.

But, as well, there would be a whole raft of other equally important considerations made before she would put her hand in her purse. Mum would weigh each of these decisions up which each purchase:

Can I afford it?
How economical is it?
How many meals will I get out of it?
When was the last time we had it?
What is the most nutritious use of the food?
What have I got to compliment it? (What will aid in it's digestion)
How much value can I squeeze out of using this food before it breaks down and has to be chucked out?
